The Catholic University of America Press, also known as CUA Press, is the academic publishing house of the Catholic University of America. Founded on November 14, 1939, and incorporated on July 16, 1941, the Press is a founding member of the Association of American University Presses (AAUP). Its editorial offices are located on the campus of the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
The Press currently publishes 40 new titles annually, with particular emphasis on disseminating scholarship in the areas of theology, philosophy, church history, and medieval studies. Its distinguished publications are authored by scholars around the world and are peer-reviewed. The Press is widely recognized for the publication of the Fathers of the Church series, in which the rich heritage of East and West come alive through English translations of the Greek and Latin writings of the church fathers. With more than 120 volumes in print, including translations of Saint Augustine’s Confessions and City of God, the series offers brilliant scholarship of historical, literary, and theological significance. The Press also offers numerous studies on the philosophy and theology of Saint Thomas Aquinas, as well as several translations of his writings.
